Pricing Models

Three ways to work together, matched to the scope and duration of your project.

// 01

Value-Based

For short and mid-term projects where I build concrete solutions.

  • Concrete solution with a clearly defined outcome
  • Price based on the value for your business
  • Predictable budget instead of counting hours
// 02

Hourly Rate

For long-term consulting, ongoing software engineering and continuous support.

  • Flexible collaboration over longer periods
  • Ongoing consulting and software engineering
  • Transparent billing based on effort
// 03

Fixed Price

For workshops, talks and trainings with a clearly defined scope.

  • Clearly defined scope and date
  • Fixed price, agreed upfront
  • Ideal for workshops, talks and trainings
// Approach

My Approach

A proven methodology for successful projects, from analysis to handover.

01

Analysis

Understanding your requirements, existing systems and goals. A clear baseline for a sustainable solution.

02

Planning

Architecture design, technology selection and detailed project planning. Risks are addressed early.

03

Implementation

Iterative development with regular feedback and transparent communication. Code is continuously integrated and tested.

04

Handover

Deployment, documentation, knowledge transfer and optional long-term support. The system stays maintainable and extensible.

// FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Answers to the questions that come up most often before an engagement.

What is agentic software engineering?

Software development in which AI agents take on defined tasks in the development process: from prompt strategies and tool integration to automated code reviews and the automation of whole development workflows. I use AI agents deliberately to speed up development and raise code quality, and I guide teams toward working productively with agentic AI.

How does an engagement start?

With a short inquiry by email to hello@volomatics.com. The analysis comes next: I understand your requirements, existing systems and goals and use that as the baseline for a sustainable solution. Only then follow planning, implementation and handover.

Which pricing models are available?

Three: value-based for short and mid-term projects with a clearly defined outcome, an hourly rate for long-term consulting and ongoing software engineering, and a fixed price for workshops, talks and trainings with a clearly defined scope.

Do you work remotely or on site?

Both. Volomatics is based in Pressbaum near Vienna and supports companies in Austria, Germany and Switzerland, on site and remote.

Which industries does Volomatics work for?

Companies in finance and insurance, industry, aviation and the public sector, as well as makers of software products. The project overview shows examples from these fields.

How does modernization work without disrupting operations?

Step by step: a migration strategy, iterative refactoring and clean knowledge transfer instead of a big-bang rewrite. The legacy system stays in operation while it is moved into a modern architecture one step at a time.

Which technologies do you work with?

Among others Java, Kotlin, TypeScript and Python; Spring Boot, Node.js and NestJS; Angular, React and Vue; PostgreSQL and PostGIS; AWS, GCP, Docker and Kubernetes; MapLibre and Mapbox GL for geodata. The full technology stack is on the About page.

In which language do we work together?

In German or English, depending on the team. Documentation and workshops are delivered in the language your team uses day to day.

How are results handed over?

With deployment, documentation and knowledge transfer to your team, with long-term support if you want it. The goal is a system that stays maintainable and extensible without me.

Who is behind Volomatics?

Alexander Knapp, a software architect with more than 15 years of experience: first in cartography and geoinformation at the Austrian Federal Office of Metrology and Surveying, then as a software architect and team lead on projects for banks, insurers, industry and public administration. Volomatics has been his own company since 2025.
